Sickboy

Join hosts Jeremie, Brian, and Taylor as they hangout and have an unapologetic, unpolished and unfiltered discussion about what it's like to live life with a disease, in the hopes of finding humour in an otherwise taboo and sometimes dark subject.

It might be Feel Good Friday, but Jeremie is in full panic mode because he may or may not lose his right eye. The fellas discuss the potential for a future vaccine (could it be a year? could it be 10? who knows). Then they chat with Martha! A new mom over in France. What is it like to give birth during the worst global pandemic of our lifetime? Not easy. Chuck a positive COVID test into the mix and howdy duty, you're in for a wild few weeks!

Steve spent the majority of his life with Hepatitis C and didn't know it. There's no way to know where he got it exactly, but it could have been from a sketchy garage tattoo while indulging in some devils lettuce and listening to some of that sinful "rock and roll" music. Today in honour of Hep C Awareness month we talk about how far we've come in the treatment of the disease that is now curable.

What do sex dolls, drive-thru go-go dancers and the Canadian elderly population have in common? Not a whole lot aside from all being topics that were covered on this week's edition of Feel Good Friday. We kick things off REAL light and loose with some interesting news stories. From Korean action figure models causing controversy to the ingenuity of one Portland strip club on keeping business flowing. Then a dose of reality. We speak with Dr. Samir Sinha, Director of Geriatrics at Mount Sinai Toronto to discuss how our healthcare system is failing our elderly population and what needs to change!

Grief can be an incredible teacher. This week we bring you a special and intimate conversation between Jeremie and his wife Bryde about the death of Bryde's father and PEI treasure, Rev. Izzard Goate AKA Bill. They explore and unpack some of the things that Bryde felt, saw and learned about love over the seven weeks she cared for him while he transitioned.

This Friday the fellas get extra silly willy. Taylor's conspiracy theories are evolving as he actually for real believes in the existence of Aliens now. Brian admits that he's a fake sweet version of himself on Monday episodes. Jeremie shares his hot wax masturbatory end of day rituals. Other highlights include mannequin Michelin star restaurants, Canadian/Chinese vaccine partnerships, irate car rants and the world's most evil human experiments.

Ryan's name starts with the letter R. But, Ryan has a really hard time pronouncing words with the letter R. God DAMN that's frustrating! Ryan lives with acquired Apraxia. According to Wikipedia: Apraxia is a motor disorder caused by damage to the brain in which the individual has difficulty with the motor planning to perform tasks or movements when asked, provided that the request or command is understood and the individual is willing to perform the task. We talk about the social challenges Ryan has faced and how he manages to cope with such a frustrating disorder.

Jeremie eat's a bag of dicks, Brian's GF is an athletic goddess, Lauren earns her week free of lashings and Taylor is not only a flat earther, but he also has an interest in swinging now, apparently. Will Jeremie show him the ropes? The gang then talk to Hannah all the way from Little Rock, AK about her experience in fostering two toddlers in the midst of a global pandemic. A true hero, doing wonderful work, all while rocking a sick paid of COD headphones.

Today from our apocalypse bunkers we shoot the literal and metaphorical shit with our new friend Tess Koman! Coming to us from her childhood bedroom closet, Tess shares with us her coming of age tale of a girl living with such a severe case of Crohn's disease that it even messed up her lungs!! She also manages to win the award for the most grotesque/gnar-gnar story we've ever heard on the show. Congrats Tess!

Brian would like everyone to know that peeing sitting down = vulnerable. Taylor goes even deeper into a hole of alt-right beliefs and conspiracy BS. Lauren does not receive her weekly intern beating this week and Jeremie is pro endangered species murder. Although on the bright side the gang chat with Dr. Alex Chase-Levenson about the history of Quarantines and talk about what history can teach us about moving forward as a society going through a bizarre and traumatic event together!

Shout out to Todrick Hall for the killer Quarantine Jams!
